What is the bravest thing that you have done?

I was in an 8-day blizzard on a glacier in Alaska, and that was a hard adventure. I also went to Antarctica and crossing the Drake Passage is stormy!

What made you decide to pursue a career in STEM?

STEM gives me the chance to solve hard problems, which I love doing, understand the natural world more, teach and work with others, and build a better future for all of us. Who wouldn't love that??

What does your day-to-day role look like?

I meet with lots of people, from firefighters to NASA airplane pilots to scientists and physicists to make sure that NASA science and data is shared with everyone who needs it. Meetings, writing research papers and logistic planning fill my days .

“This is me taking a break from hiking with my dog Darby.”
