Alice Aspinall earned her Honours Bachelor of Mathematics from University of Windsor in 2008, as well as a Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor in 2008. She is currently working as a Secondary Mathematics Teacher at the Greater Essex County District School Board. When she's not teaching you can find her writing children's books to inspire a love of math, crocheting, knitting or watching TV.

When did your love of STEM begin?

My love for math began in high school and has been growing ever since!

What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?

The best part about working in the field of STEM is when young women tell me I have motivated them to pursue a career in STEM as well. People are STILL surprised to see a female teaching advanced mathematics.

What advice would you give young women interested in a career in STEM?

Women are strong and belong in STEM careers. The only way to change stereotypes is to be the change and push into careers that we can succeed in!
