When did your love of STEM begin?

My love for STEM began when I was in high school and searching for what I wanted to do in my career. I had always been an avid fan of the subject of Mathematics and decided to pursue this subject for my undergraduate degree. I was one of the few women in the classroom but I truly enjoyed and learned from every moment of my degree. During my program, I had the opportunity to work in internships. This was where I first ventured into the technology field working 2 marketing internship opportunities at BlackBerry where I thrived in the fast pace environment and seeing first hand how technology enhances our ability to work. I became addicted by the culture and the impact of technology for consumers and commercial audiences.

My love for being in tech never went away. I pursued my MBA to bring a cohesive understanding on the foundations of business, and received the unbelievable opportunity to work for Microsoft - an organization I only ever dreamed of working at.

What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?

The best part about working in technology is I get to see first hand how we bring digital transformation to our customers. It thrills me to able to work in an industry that is working towards the betterment of our society. I love being able to see Artificial Intelligence integrated into everyday solutions and delivering devices to our customers hands enabling them to become productive in their own workplaces.

What advice would you give young women interested in a career in STEM?

We are still in world where there are not enough female leadership, women in business and female developers. Never let anyone stop you from pursuing your dream. My own journey in STEM took me on a path that I never thought it would and the entire journey will be a learning process for you as well. We are in the digital age and being successful means enabling technology into everything that we do.
