When did your love of STEM begin?
My love of STEM began ever since I was a little girl, I had always dreamed of being a veterinarian or dentist and now I am currently on a path to pursue dentistry. I have always been fascinated by science and am very excited to learn more throughout these next few years.
What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?
What I value most about STEM is that it’s not just about memorizing facts, but truly understanding why things happen. I enjoy analyzing concepts and seeing how science applies to real-life situations. It motivates me to know that this understanding will eventually allow me to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
What advice would you give young women interested in a career in STEM?
Trust yourself and give yourself time to grow. You don’t need to be perfect, you just need to be willing to try.
Tell us a fun fact about you and your current role!
A fun fact about me is that I’m a competitive golfer currently playing on the Guelph Gryphons varsity golf team. Balancing athletics with a STEM degree has taught me discipline, focus, and time management
