When did your love of STEM begin?

I don't think I can pinppint one time or even a general timeframe. As long as I can remember, I've been inately curious about how things work and why. Growing up super athletic then honed that general interest and curiosity towards physical actiivity and exercise

What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?

My job is to learn, to be curious, and to read. Could it be any better?

What advice would you give young women interested in a career in STEM?

STEM can be hard. Being a young woman in STEM can be harder. We always think that the hard is almost over- it will be less hard after finals, and junior year, after I graduate. The truth is, however, the hard doesn't stop. You just become a person who can do hard things. The world needs more people who can do hard things.

Tell us a fun fact about you and your current role!

I have two Paralympic bronze medals (Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024) in the sport of track cycling. My involvement in para sport has informed a lot of my research investigating health and performance in para athletes.
